The following are ways in which the Inn is working to become more green and earth friendly. We share these ideas with you in hopes you might help us here and take some of the suggestions home.

  

 

 


 

1. Use saran wrap on sandwiches instead of using so many “to go boxes”
2. Use “Recycled Hoagie Bags” for sandwiches instead of boxes
3. Reusable containers for lunches
4. Use recycled paper products
5. Use dish water as mop water
6. Reuse garbage bags when possible (empty together)
7. Reuse previous printed paper in computer printer
8. Save soap in cabins and cottages
9. Wash laundry with cold water whenever possible
10. Switch to environmentally safe products
11. Start a linen (both towels and sheets) reuse program in all rooms
12. Ask during reservation process if guest wants to participate in our “conserve and cut down” program by using our towel and room refresher card.
13. Make laundry bags out of retired sheets
14. Install low flow showerheads and sink aerators
15. Switch to low flow toilets or install toilet tank fill diverters
16. Switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs in guestrooms or use sensors in infrequently used areas
17. Install dimmer on light switches
18. Keep heat turned down in cabins, cottages and rooms
19. Leave heat/AC on one setting and not turn it up and down
20. Use less paper by reducing size of paper used
21. Consider purchasing fair trade products for gift shop
22. Use organic cotton sheet sets
23. Our current Spa products are natural and environmentally conscious we would like to find organic, natural and environmentally conscious products.
24. Offer organic healthy snacks, like Country Life Foods
25. Offer discount rates to sustainable living/environmental organization who would like to stay at or hold meetings at property
